The Sea Scout program is an international component of the Boy Scouts of America Venturing program for young men and women aged 14 to 21. Sea Scouting is organized to promote better citizenship and to improve members’ boating skills and knowledge through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social and service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage. The local council of Sea Scouts serves 25 communities in Puget Sound, with vessels in ten communities, including the Yankee Clipper (pictured) in West Seattle. Other Sea Scout councils serve communities in Canada and the coasts of the United States.
