The 38th annual Olympia Harbor Days on the Olympia waterfront will feature Lady Washington, the official ship of Washington state, and her companion ship, Hawaiian Chieftain. After a passage from Gig Harbor, The two vessels will arrive at Port Plaza Dock, 704 Columbia Street NW, Olympia the afternoon of September 1 and get ready for public sails and walk-on tours September 2-4. The ships will also offer activities on Labor Day, September 5.
Here is the sailing schedule for Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain:
•9/2, 5:30 p.m. Lady Washington Evening Sail. Three hours. $35.
•9/3, 2 p.m. Lady Washington & Hawaiian Chieftain Battle Sail. Three hours. $40-$60.
•9/4, 10 a.m. Hawaiian Chieftain Adventure Sail. Three hours. $35-$55.
•9/4, 4 p.m. Lady Washington & Hawaiian Chieftain Battle Sail. Three hours. $40-$60.
•9/5, 2 p.m. Lady Washington & Hawaiian Chieftain Battle Sail. Three hours. $40-$60.
Evening Sails are special value-priced sails for budget-conscious individuals and families. Battle Sails feature a recreation of a typical 18th century naval skirmish with live cannon fire and real gunpowder, but no cannon balls. Adventure Sails include an opportunity for guest to help raise a sail and take the helm of a real tall ship, conditions permitting.
Groups of 8 or more purchasing Battle Sail or Adventure Sail tickets automatically receive a 15% per ticket discount. Early reservations are strong recommended for all sailing activities. Lady Washington was named the state’s official tall ship ambassador in 2007 by an act of the state Legislature. Hawaiian Chieftain accompanies Lady Washington on her voyages.
