Local Pacific Northwest sailors turned world cruisers, Behan and Jamie Gifford are back in Puget Sound and are sharing a spectrum of experiences from their 10-year circumnavigation aboard their Stevens 47, Totem.
They have a series of presentations lined up for September before heading back to Totem in Mexico and each one will be unique. Storytelling is never the same twice, but these sessions will consciously hit a range of topics to inform and inspire.
At the Wooden Boat Festival they’ll appear daily talking about adventures around the world while raising their three children, including a session that dispels commonly heard fears about storms or piracy. They’ll touch on those common fears again at the Corinthian Yacht Club’s monthly dinner (9/14). Lessons along the way will be covered at the Shilshole Bay YC’s meeting on the 18th, and the month closes with an inspirational look at what they call “hidden treasures”: unforgettable places and people they’ve met along the way during the last decade. Events are open to the public.
