Year in and year out, the Leukemia Cup Regatta on Elliott Bay is one of those ultra fun sailing events that brings people back and raises money for a good cause at the same time. Well, it’s happening again this year and looks to bring that same atmosphere of camaraderie and charity to the Seattle sailing community.
Join The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and your fellow sailors at Elliott Bay Marina on June 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. to help LLS achieve its mission of creating a world without blood cancers.
Each year has a different theme for racers to show their spirit, and the race course follows the typical Downtown Sailing Series route bringing competitors from the marina, past the Space Needle and Seattle waterfront, westward across the bay and then back to the finish. Following the race, an afterparty will be held for race participants and guests in Seattle Yacht’s Outstation at the marina.
You can support the cause and regatta by registering to participate in the event and raising funds along with your crew.
Also, it’s worth noting that you don’t have to be an on-water participant to raise funds or attend the social functions that are part of the Leukemia Cup Regatta. You can make a donation to a participant, a team, or to the event itself. To search for a participant or team, click here.
Junior sailors can also support LLS by participating in the Seattle Yacht Club Junior Regatta on May 20th. Register now to sail and raise funds.
