Greg Allen of Yacht Masters NW and Paul Zimmer and Ryan Parker, co-owners of S3 Maritime, have announced the merger of these two well-established and respected Seattle yacht outfitter and repair companies.
The combined entity will operate as S3 Maritime and will have a team of 48 employees, making it one of the largest yacht outfitters in the Pacific Northwest.
When reached by phone, Zimmer said that it was the right time and fit for the two companies and they are eager to move forward together as S3. “Basically, the overall goal of the merger is to provide better service for our clients by utilizing our years of experience from management all the way down to technicians — we’ve got hundreds of years of combined experience in this business.”
Yacht Masters has been located on Lake Union for the last four decades while S3 has been located just inside the Ballard Locks on the Lake Washington Ship Canal for the last nine years. As both companies continued to grow, now seemed like a logical time to consolidate their work forces and facilities in one place to better serve their growing markets. Yacht Masters will be relocating to S3 Maritime’s modern 18,000 square foot facility in Salmon Bay, just west of Fisherman’s Terminal, which has convenient moorage for vessels up to 100-plus feet.
On integrating both company’s layers of expertise, Zimmer added, “We’re going to make it as seamless as possible for boat owners and current clients to get the services they need and the quality they expect.”
Both companies are well known for providing high quality and high tech services to the recreational and commercial yacht market and each brings a unique set of skills to this new endeavor. S3 is well known for their wide range of maritime expertise in everything from electronics to watermakers, while Yacht Masters has a rigging department and a custom fiberglass construction department to add to the package of services that will be available.
S3 Maritime is also the sponsor of Sails & Ales, the craft beer night at the Seattle Boat Show, and Paul and the team invite all boaters to stop by and share an ale with them on Friday, February 3 and learn all about the company’s new capabilities. For those that can’t make Sails & Ales, S3 will be at Booth #2418, located on the Electronics Concourse above the main floor, for the duration of the show, January 27 – Feb 4, and are happy to field any questions that boaters have.
