The majority interest in the 105 slip Eagle Harbor Marina, located on the south shore of Eagle Harbor across from the ferry dock, has been acquired by Eagle Harbor Partners, LLP, headed by Bainbridge Island resident Bob Wise. The existing facility was developed in 1980 and has long been a favorite for both island and Seattle boaters due to its location and ability to moor large vessels.
“Our first effort will be to completely rebuild the facility,” Wise said. “The current facilities are literally worn-out. When finished, the marina will offer industry leading amenities and environmental protections as part of Washington State’s Clean Marina Program. The slips, ranging in length from 36 to 90 feet are available for lease on an annual basis.
When the remodel is completed this winter, the marina will feature all new docks and pilings, upgraded power facilities, commercial quality Wi-Fi and in-slip pump-out. In addition, a state of the art security system is being installed with electronic gates and high definition video monitoring.
The Eagle Harbor Marina property includes an onshore building with bathrooms, showers, a laundry facility, community meeting room and marina office. In addition, there is a storage facility and parking for 50 cars.
“Each year, more and more island residents discover recreational boating and the unique opportunity our region provides. We want our facility to serve this group and become the moorage of choice for many years to come,” Wise said.
Separately, Wise owns two other marinas, the Home Port Marina in Pleasant Harbor on Hood Canal and the Port Hadlock Marina in Port Townsend Bay. Wise is a Director of the Recreational Boaters Association of Washington (RBAW) which lobbies lawmakers on behalf of Washington’s 300,000 boaters. He is also a member of the Washington Public Ports Association, member of the Pacific Coast Congress of Harbormasters and is the former chairman of the Bainbridge Island Harbor Commission.
