Spring swap meet season rolls on for boaters, this time in Port Townsend on Saturday, April 23.
The Northwest Maritime Center has long hosted an annual marine swap meet, and this year it will be in a new location. The Marine Thrift Swap Meet will take place in the Port Townsend Boat Haven, in-between PT Shipwrights Co-Op and Taku.
The Northwest Maritime Center recently launched its newest project, a marine thrift store aptly named Marine Thrift. Marine Thrift is located in the Port Townsend Boat Haven and will be hosting this year’s Marine Thrift Swap Meet from 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Registration for interested sellers is available online, and it is important to get the word out to those who are interested in attending that the Swap Meet will be in a new location. Already, there seems to be renewed interest, especially among Port Townsend’s more notable sailors, riggers and shipwrights.
The Marine Thrift Swap Meet is a great place to find used tools, hardware and all things boating related. Help keep usable marine goods out of landfills and on boats where they belong.
And at the end of the swap meet you don’t even have to pack your unsold stuff back up, as any unsold items can be donated to Marine Thrift. All donations are tax-deductible and Marine Thrift staff will provide receipts for all donations. All sales at Marine Thrift support the mission and educational programs at the Northwest Maritime Center.
Interested sellers have until Wednesday, April 20 to register. Register online at: www.nwmaritime.org/swap-meet
