A new seawall and docks now grace the Port of Friday Harbor Marina, but the same welcoming hospitality awaits boaters this season. And the Port’s upcoming Boat Safety Fair & Marine Swap Meet is a great way to kick off the boating season in a safe and fun way while experiencing what the marina and town of Friday Harbor have to offer.
Whether you live on San Juan Island or come on your own boat, by ferry or seaplane, head to the Port of Friday Harbor on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for their annual Boat Safety Fair & Swap Meet.
You can reserve a spot to “swap” your gear by calling the harbormaster at 360-378-2688.
Free vessel safety checks will be available, you can drop off expired flares and the USCG will be performing man overboard demos. And, kayakers won’t want to miss the in-the-water self-correcting kayak demonstrations.
Free food and live music round out the event and it is family friendly, so their will be fun activities for the kids as well.
Not able to make it? The Port of Friday Harbor Marina is continuing their “spend four nights and get the fifth free” deal and they have revived their popular Port Book, which all guests receive when they check in. The Port Book is done in partnership with local businesses, so take it with you as you shop around town and you can earn a piece of Port of Friday Harbor Marina gear.
